What's your favourite English word?

When I thought about this I decided that I haven't got just one favourite English word I have a few. I like the word "Spring" because of the images it evokes, I like the word "onomatopoeia" because of the sound and I like the word "together" because as I child I was told how to spell it by my primary school teacher, to -get -her and I was so astonished that I've never forgotten. When you see this we might have done something in class but if not go into the link I think you'll find it interesting.

University Cambridge Finale Lightshow

When Cambridge University celebrated its 800th anniversary they produced this lightshow for the University and the people of Cambridge. That was in 2009. Next year CPE or Proficiency will celebrate its 100th anniversary.

• 1. Write an email to your friend and answer his questions:

It's great you can come to my house this evening to watch a DVD. What time can you come? Which DVD do you want to watch? What would you like to eat?

• 2. Someone phoned for your friend and you took a message. Write the message  for  your friend saying:

Who phoned.
What this person said.
What your friend should do.

• 3.Write a note to Jan and answer his questions

I'm happy that you're going to come and see me at the weekend. How will you travel here? What time will you arrive? What would you like to do? Jan xx
